Only 2 weeks remain in August 2025…let’s make the most of them in supporting our Veterans, their families, and the community where they live.
The Post is closed today, but our friends at New Freedom Restaurant won’t allow us to go hungry… on Mondays from 4-8 they offer a 10% discount to all VFW Members. Show your card to receive the discount. We are organizing a group dinner on Monday, August 25th, at 6:00. Please join us and connect with your fellow members off-site. Kitchen update: Beginning August 19th, the kitchen hours will be 5-8:00 pm. Tuesday-Saturday. Beginning in September, we plan to reintroduce a monthly weekend dinner special, details of which will be announced in advance.
Sunday Hours for the Canteen will resume on September 7th, in time for football season. Plan to join us 12:30-6.
Also in September… Sunday Brunch is returning 🎉 on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month from 10-12:00 upstairs in our newly renovated hall. Volunteers to help make Brunch a success would be appreciated. Please see Chrissie or Hadlye to ask how you can help.
If you ordered a VFW Day T-shirt it will be available for pick up this week. See the canteen staff and be sure to wear it proudly on September 29th.
The Blades Dining Room will be closed on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month from 6-9 for Post 7012 meetings.
Our Military Unit Patch collection is proudly on display in the canteen and will be moving with us to our future location. If you have a patch to add, please drop it off with the bar staff.
The commemorative brick sale for our future location is still in progress. Order a brick in honor or memory of a Veteran OR one that shows your support as a business or family/friend of VFW Post 7012. See the attached flyer for details on ordering/purchasing and the accompanying picture to see what brick placement plans are for our future location. The “Patriot Garden” section will honor military service members and be designed to bloom throughout the growing season with predominantly red, white, and blue flowers.
We have 2 Spirit Nights Fundraisers planned in our corner of the county and invite all members to participate and share.
The next 130 Raffle Dinner is September 7th for all ticket holders and their guests.
Save the date and plan to attend this special event to honor & remember 2 local heroes.
Happening this week:
Wednesday, August 20th: Bluegrass in the Blades. Taking place in the Blades Dining Room, this weekly event is available to acoustic musicians, singers, and fans of bluegrass music. Non-members will be signed in as guests.
Thursday, August 21st: Line Dancing with Kyrsten in the Upstairs Dance Hall. Come for the instruction, open dance, or to be a spectator. Post 7012 provides a Concession Stand and Beverage/Bar Service during this event. Doors open at 6:00 for dinner before dancing. No outside food or drink permitted, cash only
Saturday, August 23rd: Cash Bingo. Bring your friends and family to play. 10 regular games and one special game. Cards are $1 each or 30 for $25 for the regular games and $5/card for the Special Finale game. Come early (doors open at 5:00) for dinner and drinks. Cash only, ATM on premises, no outside food or drink permitted.
