80th Anniversary

As a former member of one of the two Divisions that Landed on Omaha Beach, I would like to thank my father’s generation for saving the world for democracy. I have been to Omaha Beach and I can hardly imagine the terror my fellow 29ers felt on the Morning of June 6, 1944. Most of the first wave would not live to see the sun rise on the 7th of June and those who did would be scarred for life. You hear very little from those who gave so much on that day because their PTSD would continue until they finally made it home and then the nightmares would continue. As the son of a WWII Vet, I never heard my father mention the war. Please, in your prayers this day, remember your loved ones who gave so much for what we have today. If you are lucky enough to have a family member or friend who was in Normandy, please hug them and thank them ask God to make a special place in Heaven for them because they served their time in Hell.
