🇺🇸 25 YEARS LATER…WE REMEMBER. 🇺🇸

Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001.

For those who lived through that day, some memories have never faded: where we were when we heard the news, the images we watched in disbelief, the lives lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the profound sense that our country had changed forever.

Nearly 3,000 lives were taken that day. In the years that followed, thousands more Americans answered the call to serve, leaving their families and homes to defend a nation still grieving.

There is special meaning in the fact that this 25th anniversary falls on R.E.D. Friday: Remember Everyone Deployed.

Today, we remember them all.

We remember those who went to work, boarded airplanes and reported for duty on an ordinary Tuesday morning and never came home.

We remember the firefighters, police officers, first responders and ordinary citizens whose courage emerged in extraordinary circumstances.

We remember the service members who deployed in the days, months and years that followed, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

And we remember the families who have carried their absence every day since.

Twenty-five years have passed, but remembrance does not have an expiration date.

At VFW Post 7012, we invite you to wear RED today in honor of those currently serving far from home, and to take a moment with us to honor all those whose lives and service became part of the story of September 11.
