It’s the last Monday of April 2024 and we are heading into a busy month…the Post is closed today while the 7012 Officers and Staff prepare for the week ahead… grab your calendar and save these dates:
This week:
🌮🎥Tuesday, April 30th- Taco Tuesday and Movie Night featuring “An Officer and a Gentleman.” Canteen doors open at 3:00 for Beer Happy Hour. Tacos and more leave the kitchen beginning at 4:00, and at 7:00 we begin movie night in the Blades Dining Room.
🪕 Wednesday, May 1st- Bluegrass Jam Session with Jessie and Friends in the Blades Dining Room from 6-9:00. All acoustic musicians, singers, and fans of live music are welcome to attend. This weekly event is free and provides a relaxing atmosphere to end the day.
💰Thursday May 2nd @ 9pm - Friday May 3rd @ 9pm- Give Local York’s 24-Hour Fundraiser. This is the modern-day version of a telethon…a giving spree to benefit local nonprofits including Post 7012 as one of the recipients. We encourage you to share the link when it goes live during those 24 hours. See the attached flyer for more information and links to the Give Local York website.
🐎 🌮 Saturday, May 4th- Cinco de Derby at 5:00…We’re combining two celebrations in one night… Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo. We’ll be watching the race while eating tacos and drinking margaritas. Wear a sombrero or a fascinator… prizes for the best of both

🇺🇸🚴🏻♀️May 10th- Marshall Stone and Chrissie’s 1/2 Way to Veterans Day Celebration. This is an “open to the public event” and volunteers are needed to make it a success for Post 7012. Please see Canteen Manager, Dave Reisdorf for volunteer opportunities.
🌸May 11th- Annual Flower Sale-Preorders are now being accepted by phone or on the sign up sheet posted in the Canteen. Additionally, flowers will be sold on May 11th at 2 separate locations listed on the attached flyer.
💰 May 11th- Cash Bingo at 7:00 (we are also excited to announce Cash Bingo will be occurring twice a month beginning in June…double your fun and winning potential on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month)
🍺 💰May 16th- Post 7012 Fundraiser at Vortex Brewing Company in New Freedom. We are excited to partner with Vortex on this day to raise funds for our new building. More details to follow but plan to visit their location for dinner and beverages on this date to mutually benefit Post 7012 and another gem in our beloved town of New Freedom. Together we honor Veterans, their families and the community.

⛳️May 20th- Golf Outing (flyer attached)
🧑🍳 May 22nd- last day for junior chef, Evan. Stop in for his send-off celebration any time after 5:00
🇺🇸May 23rd- Regular Members/Combat Vets meeting at 7:00. All qualified Regular Members are encouraged to attend for annual elections and voting
🌭May 24th- Auxiliary at 83 Rest Stop.
❓May 25th-Trivia Night at 7:00
🇺🇸May 27th- Memorial Day Service at 11:00

Help Wanted: The canteen is seeking a cook/kitchen help. We offer a good starting salary and will train a serious candidate. Completion of a food handling course within the first 30 days is necessary if not already certified. We are growing and anticipate moving from our current location to a new facility with a modern kitchen…we would like to hire someone to come on board now and grow with us.
